Hi everyone :3
This is something I've been thinking about for a while, and it's been bothering me ever since I started doing commissions. Mentally I just can't seem to make them look as good as any of my original ideas/paintings/drawings. And it's hard to enjoy drawing them.
When I started commissions I thought it was the greatest and most honourable thing that people wanted to buy my work, I didn't think much of DeviantArt's Commission Culture where it's 'Draw my OC like this'. There are nice OC's out there, but most just never really reflected the nature of my paintings. My characters in my paintings were more naturally minimalistic, and when I was given detailed OC's I had no idea what to do with them no matter how pretty they were. A lot of the time I just simplify the OC and some people didn't really like that.
With digital drawing I do have to rely on my income through commissions, but with watercolours I can draw freely and auction them (I don't ever intend to sound money hungry but I am trying to save quite a bit right now ;w; much sorry ;w.
Commissions won't be gone, I will accept any commission who would like art to be dedicated to them, or if they pick out a theme (so I don't have to worry about characters).
I will finish off current commissions don't worry c: !
Hopefully you guys understand ;w; Comment and suggest anything if you'd like to attempt to change my mind x3 <3
